  I rarely leave reviews but I left this place today feeling like I simply had to share my experience. The staff were friendly, location good and atmosphere pleasant. However, the food was not good at all, especially for the price paid. I ordered an Angus sirloin with king prawns, chips, onion rings mushrooms, salad and half a tomato. The steak was decent, the mushrooms tasted tinned and the chips and onion rings were most definitely frozen products that had been deep fried. Considering it cost me £17.50 it was totally unacceptable. My partner ordered a hog-roast pork burger that was advertised as having gammon, pork and crackling on it. When it arrived it had something that looked like a cocktail stick poking out of the top of the burger, we later discovered that this was the 'crackling' (needless to say it was inedible). The burger was sloppy and tasted very, very processed to the point where we would compare it to a McDonald's breakfast sausage patty. The quality of the food definitely needs to be reassessed, especially when considering the price paid! I actually think that I've had better food at Wetherspoons. I would not recommend.

  Very nice place, tasty food for the most part. Fish pie let's the menu down, good for meaty dishes. Side restaurant for fancy dining and great pub dining too, where dogs are allowed. Overall I like this place. Take change for parking, it's reimbursed but you still need to get a ticket.

  Part pub and part restaurant catering for all needs, particularly families, although there is no outside secure play area. Traditional interior with many cosy corners for small groups. Good wholesome and varied menu at reasonable prices. Adequate and varied range of well-kept beers. Very friendly and helpful staff; all you need for a pleasant day or evening out.
